This remembering to update stuff isn't going so hot! I apologize... I'm still getting into the groove of actually having an internet connection. Not to mention the fact that I have to share this computer since the wireless still doesn't work. Bleh.
I don't really recall what I last updated about. I'll just go with work. We definitely played Apples to Apples in class yesterday instead of actually learning anything XD It was pretty awesome. When SSgt Beck teaches, class goes by much quicker. He is hilarious! And I'm starting to warm to the other people in my class that I didn't already know. O'Neal is pretty cool. And, this is going to sound mean and it is, Baker is fun to laugh at >XD He really brings it upon himself. He's the class clown that tries to act like he's not purposely acting stupid. If that makes any sense. *shrugs* Today wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the fact that I got barely 3 hours of sleep last night.
Speaking of which! Harry Potter the 6th. Though ( certain things ) left a bit to be desired, I actually enjoyed the movie. It was rather humorous, actually. Especially Lavender XD And, yes, I did cry T_T But now I'm exhausted cause I didn't get home til 3:15ish, heh. And poor Mel had to take me back to my house cause I'm dumb and locked my keys in my car! *shakes her head* Thanks again, Mel! I will probably be going to bed fairly soon. I can barely keep my eyes open...
In other news, I have cable in my room now. Woot! Um... I don't think I have much else to report. I'm gonna go make some dinner and then sleep. Yeeeessssss. Ciao!

Things are going good, though. Went to Columbus over the weekend. Twas fun! I went out with Tami and Sue and Fluhie and this guy that Sue was trying to set me up with. He seemed nice enough *shrugs* I think Tami and I scared him, lol! He called me the next day... that doesn't happen often. I dunno. I'm not really open to dating right now. I'm having some issues in that area. Meh.
Any-ho, Saturday I finally had Bob Evans since being back. I missed it! Then I got my nails taken off and a new watch <3 It's cute and functional! Came home and chilled. Sunday was a Dee and I day. We went to John Bryant and Young's Dairy. Twas good times :) I should have remembered to bring my camera! Ah well.
As for work today, it was pretty kosher. Found out that there are quizzes/worksheets you have to do in each section your working in. And I also found out that you basically have to hound people to death before they'll give them to you. Not to mention the fact that they have to sign off on my stuff and there's hardly ever anyone over there. AND they have to give me weekly evaluations that, apparently, just don't happen. Gotta love the organization. But I'm still enjoying myself in urinalysis. Everyone seems to think I'm crazy, but, as I told them, it's a hell of a lot more interesting than my last job!
As for the rest of this week, let's see...
Tuesday = Harry Potter with Mel!
Saturday = Taking Dee to see her daddy.
That's about all the plans I have. Besides a hair appointment Saturday morning. I really wish I could just sleep... I'm so tired!

As the title suggest, I got to do actual lab work today! It was pretty cool. My current section is rather low key, though. I'm in urinalysis and we didn't get all that many specimens. I got to run two pregnancy tests and a few dipsticks for the short amount of time I actually did lab stuff today. It was fun, though! And there was music! That made me pretty happy. Most of the day consisted of my trying to control my urge to strangle Carroll and wishing inprocessing was done and over with. No class today, though, so that was a little treat. After work, we all went to play soccer for PT. It was fun, but the guys in our lab are way too fucking competitive. I definitely got yelled at a lot and hit in the face with a ball. Awesome. But whatever. I comfort myself with the fact that, once I'm trained, I'll probably be able to work circles around any one of them. Sports are not my forte... academics are. Now that I care about what I'm studying, lol.
Any-ho, tis dinner time and I should probably read up since I won't be doing much studying this weekend. I'm in the lab all day tomorrow! Woot! I'll talk to ya'll later :)
Oh! And Mel and I definitely have our texts for HP XD
Ciao!

Taking a break from studying at the moment. Yar.
The last two days of work have been pretty good. A lot of wandering around the hospital trying to get inprocessed. There is more crap to do than one would imagine! And I started class on Tuesday. We're starting in serology... perhaps the most boring section of our job. Seriously, it's painfully dull. At least it's a short section, though. I'm hoping whatever we move onto next will be better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for micro! Hopefully it's not chemistry... blech.
The people in our class that are above us are a bit, well, odd. There's this one guy, Baker, who kind of just sits there and makes really bad jokes. He has a good straight face, though. He seems a bit into himself for my tastes *shrugs* Our class leader has already warned us that the lab is like high school. Awesome! I'm beginning to think that all of life is, in one way or another. Which is really just tragic... So far, though, I'm enjoying the lab. Not that we've been in it much, lol.
Tomorrow we're having some kind of potluck for a retiring colonel that I don't even know. Should be good times... Then we get to leave early to go play soccer, which is a MUCH better PT option than what we had at Sheppard! Words can't describe how much nicer it is to be here at Wright Patt than at Sheppard. Love <3
As for life after work, there hasn't been much of one. Mostly because I've been exhausted every single day when I get home. I'm hoping I'll adjust to the schedule soon so I'll be able to actually function after work. I'd like to be able to go hang out with Mel and Holly. Which reminds me... I need to find out when/where Mel wants to see HBP! I feel like a bad Harry Potter fan for taking so long. Most of my after work days have consisted of chilling with Dee and reading In Cold Blood. Which is a rather good book, by the way. Friday I'm going up to Columbus to chill with some people from Nationwide and Tami. I ponder if Mel is doing anything Friday... you could come, too, Mel, if you want! I am staying until Saturday, though, in case that makes any difference. It'll be fun!
Anyways, I should get back to the homework. I'll try and be online later, if only for a bit. Getting up at 6 am shouldn't be so hard for me... I've been doing it for the past 7 months! Ciao!

So my first day as a Phase II med lab student is officially over. It was pretty boring, I'm not gonna lie! Mostly because all we did was paperwork and more paperwork. And we still have paperwork to do tomorrow -_- We did get a tour of the lab and I found out what section I shall be working in first. Urinanalysis... boring. But at least I'll get it over with. And I don't have to do ward rounds (which, apparently, suck) until September! It'll be the week of my birthday, but whatever. They set me up with a dental appointment and I have to do some health assessment thingie, as well. Bleh. I never realized how big the Wright Patt hospital is, though! I'm glad I wore my low quarters instead of my heels. Tomorrow I get to wear my ABUs, thank the gods! You never think combat boots are going to be comfy, but they really are. All in all, it was a pretty decent day. It was cool seeing my classmates and I saw a lot of people at the hospital that I used to know at Sheppard. A good day :)
As for right now, I'm gonna go take a nap/read and find something cool and refreshing to drink. I shall see ya'll later. Ciao!

I've had that song stuck in my head the past few days. Hence the icon *points* Though I need new icons... I'm bored with my current set.
Anyways, life has been decent these past few days. Adjusting to being at home and such. I can't wait til classes start... I'm ready to be back to work already, lol. Went to Cincinnati to see fireworks yesterday, which turned out to be a bust. Freakin' rain... We ended up going to Fairborn after eating at Joe's Crab Shack in Newport, KY. I <3 fireworks! I texted people to see what they were up to but never received a text back, so what're ya going to do. Talked to Reuben a bit, watched the TV... it was a pretty chill 4th of July. Didn't feel any different from any other 4th of July. For some reason I thought it would, being in the military and all. Well, it's not like I've been in a long time or like I've been deployed. I'm sure it would feel a little different then. I still enjoyed it, of course, because I LOVE fireworks! It's part of the pyro in me ;)
As for today, I've got a lot of unpacking to do and I need to get my uniform set for tomorrow. I should probably text the folks that are starting with me tomorrow and see if they still want to meet up. I know where I'm going, but I'm not sure if they do.
Oh! I forgot to mention that I went to see Transformers with Mel! The movie was... well... bleh. It was waaaaay too long. And I could care less about Megan Fox and I'm pretty sure her lips have gotten bigger. It was a decent enough movie, I guess, but it definitely didn't need to be almost three hours long. Mel and I ate at Red Robin's beforehand and it was pretty tasty. I had a good time. Mel apparently thought it was too high school. My bad, I guess? I shall have to think of better things for us to do.
Oh yes! I almost forgot to mention that Dee and I went to the zoo with Shannon and Claudia. It was a lot of fun, though it was super crowded. Dee enjoyed seeing all the animals and she wanted to go back yesterday, lol. We went out to eat, too, at this yummy place called Marcella's. I still have leftover lasagna. It was a good day, all in all. It was lovely seeing Shannon after all this time. And Claudia is just growing in leaps and bounds!
Anyways, I really need to get started on the unpacking. Ciao!

Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ/notes and explain what they mean to you.
I was given the following words by
season_changing:
Mama: Ahh, this word means so much to me now! Back before I had Dee, I didn't think I was cut out to be a mother. Now that I've had her, I realize that I am mother material. It's weird having someone completely depend on you for every little thing and love you so unconditionally. Her smile makes my day, every day, and I'm very proud to call myself her mother. It may not have happened under what would be considered "ideal" circumstances, but I think I've been the best damn mom I can be. And I love it :)
Military: My bread and buttah ;) But I've always been a fan of the military since I was little. More than likely because I grew up in the military. I feel like that is a strange thing to say, seeming as I'm not Republican. But we Demos can like the military, too! I like the uniform, I like the culture, and, oddly enough, I enjoy the discipline. Lord knows I need it sometimes... *coughPTcough* I enjoy all the traditions and such that come along with being in the military, as well. And, now that I don't have to do it every freakin' day, I even enjoy marching, lol. It's just something that I feel proud to be a part of.
Ohio: Oh, Ohio! I know I have often said that I hate Ohio. But I have found somewhere far worse: Texas. In comparison, Ohio is a freakin' dream! The weather is much more mild, though I'm not looking forward to my first winter back... The people aren't completely insane. Well... less of them are. And I don't have to see cowboy hats and dead animals mounted up everywhere. Besides, most of my friends are in Ohio. And it really is a beautiful state. I probably love it so much now because I'm comfortable with it and I'm getting to the over the hill age where I don't like change. ...Yes, I will only be 27, but that's freakin' old! T_T
Anime: Ahh, anime. I must admit, I had started to lose interest in anime not too long ago. I dunno what it was... I think I mostly got lazy with keeping up with series, lol. And it's not exactly a cheap past time, especially if you don't have a decent internet connection. And, to be honest, I wasn't exactly rolling in the dough and I had more important things to spend what little money I had on. So anime kind of went by the wayside. Whilst in tech school, though, I kinda got back into it. I'm making good money now and don't have a lot of bills at the moment, so I can actually indulge myself a bit. I enjoy anime, though, because it just takes you to places that American cartoons (and, hell, most American TV shows) just don't go. The Japanese come up with some crazy stuff and I love it! And a lot of it is super cute too, heh. I am a girl =P
Animals: My true passion in life. I would seriously still die happy if I could get a job working with animals. Probably won't happen in the military, but that doesn't mean I can't keep trying. I am in the Reserves, after all. I love animals... absolutely adore them. They are beautiful to look at, complicated in the way they think and feel, and just a joy to watch. I could sit and watch Grady all day sometimes. I dunno... I just find animals fascinating. And they don't open their mouths and say idiotic things, which is nice ;) I do plan on getting my master's degree in Animal Sciences one of these days. I should probably get on that... I ain't getting any younger O_o

But in other news! I went to visit Tami the other day and it twas good ^_^ We hung out and went to Comfest and watched Diary of a Callgirl (which is hilarious!) and all was good. Dee had a bunch of fun hanging out with Tami, too. Then we spent the night and I had some fun :D Shush, Tami. And, the next day, Dee and I went to visit Reuben. Dee loves her daddy so much... she had a ton of fun hanging out with him. She's getting to that age, though, where she gets super sad when we have to go and she realizes he's not coming with us. I don't like that. I told Reuben as much. We'll see what happens.
Not much else has been going on. This week looks to be busy. Going back to the C-bus tomorrow to visit Nationwide peeps. Then I'm gonna hang out with Mel, YAY! Friday, Shannon and I are taking the girls to the zoo. And it's the 4th of July this weekend! Which means I may not get to go visit my sis in Virginia just yet. Mayhaps I'll have a long weekend coming up. And there's always Exodus time! I will get out there to visit, I swear it! It's been too long since I've seen Jess :(
Any-ho, I haven't much else to ramble about. I have to remember to pick up my dry cleaning this week. I also must remember to call my Phase II coordinator to let him know I'm in town. And I should start unpacking my crap =X But I'll talk to ya'll later! Ciao!

Getting back into the swing of things in Ohio. It's weird... when I got back, it felt like I had never left. And then I begin to think about the fact that Ohio used to be the LAST place I imagined myself settling and, yet, I seem to be settling. I would like to get back out west, though. I shall see what happens once I finish up tech school.
Any-ho, the reconnecting with folks is going fairly well. I went to visit Holly and the fam yesterday. We had fun, too! We went to eat, we went shopping, and the kids were fairly well behaved. Dee had fun, too, so that was nice. We're going down to Columbus today which has been a whole bunch of craziness. At first I was gonna visit Mel today. Then she said she might not be back, so I told my dad I'd go with him to the Ribfest. Then my dad changed his mind and Tami wanted to come down any-ho, so it was gonna be a visit Tami day. Then Tami mentioned Comfest so now I'm still going to Columbus! And now Mel might be back today @_@ It's all so confusing. Throw into the mix the fact that I, apparently, told Reuben I would visit him today and the plot thickens even more. He gets to see us tomorrow... what's one more day? He'll live =P
Now I'm thinkin of maybe going to visit Jess in Virginia before I start classes. I haven't seen my sis in forever! It would be really nice to go visit. And Virginia isn't that far away. I'll have to start researching this weekend.
Anyways, I gotta check the laundry and get Dee ready. Tis time to head to the C-bus! Ciao!

- 20:56 @meliciousness Yes. Yes it is. Freakin' south... #
- 20:57 Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett and now I find out Ed McMahon kicked the bucket too.... How did I miss that? :( #
Woo-ha, I'm back in Ohio! It feels good to be back and not in Texas. Evil, awful Texas... My apologies to anyone that lives there.
Anyways, the trip back was nice and short, so that was lovely. My dad drove me crazy and is continuing to drive me crazy. They want me to live with them for 9 months. I was considering it, too. But I've already had the urge to punch him several times in just a few short days. Grr... Maybe I'm just being harsh because I'm used to being on my own. I would like to be on my own again as soon as possible -_-
My Deidra, however, makes everything better! She's super big now and so freakin' smart <3 She's speaking really well now, too. My parents spoiled her rotten, though, so she likes to think she can do whatever she wants. I'll have that straightened out soon enough. Well... as much as one can for a two year old, lol. She's basically been glued to me since I got back. Of course, that's perfectly fine with me ^_^
As for tech school, Phase I went swimmingly. I was the Top Grad for my class, woot! And I had the best classmates ever. I'm gonna miss them! We were all freakin' crazy, but the teachers loved us. Especially SSgt. Stassen. We are definitely her favorites XD The other teachers were pretty cool, too. I'll have to upload pictures soon.
Anyways, now that I'm home, I have to see everyone! I'm going to visit Holly tomorrow and hopefully I'll get to see Mel soon, too. I know she's going out o' town this weekend. Next Friday I'm going to the zoo with Shannon and Claudia. This Sunday I'm going to Columbus with Dee to see Reuben. He's been sick lately, so I figured I wouldn't make him drive. And of course I must see Tami! And I promised Sue we'd go out soon. And I kinda said I'd go visit everyone at Nationwide, lol. So many people, so little time! I start classes again on the 6th of July. I'm hoping being out of the house a lot will help with the wanting to strangle my parents. Mostly my dad.
Anyways, I'm still trying to figure out the wireless so I can get on my laptop and chat. I'm using AIM Express right now but no one is on :( Not even Geri! Tis ok... I'll talk to you guys later! Ciao!
Randomly, WTF is with all these celebrities I actually know dying? Michael Jackson? Farah Fawcett? Who's next?! :(
Anyways, the trip back was nice and short, so that was lovely.

In about two weeks, I will finally be back in Ohio! It seems like it has been forever, cause it has, but it also feels like it's been no time at all. It all went by so quickly! I can't wait to tell you guys about all the craziness that was my tech school life. It seems like it's harder for me to keep up with my poor journal when I don't have a reliable internet connection. Or, ya know, anytime to myself, lol. That's the military for you.
I just wanted to get on here real quick and tell all of you that I really miss you and I can't wait to be back! Hope everyone is well and I'll see you soon.
Yay for graduation!
Also, being a med lab tech is like the coolest job. Ever. Hands le down XD
